WODGOH Celebrates World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025: Empowering Girls, Breaking Stigmas!
On 28th May 2025, WODGOH proudly commemorated World Menstrual Hygiene Day 2025 by visiting Government Girls Science Secondary School in Kuje (Boarding), FCT Abuja. Our team of dedicated volunteers and experts conducted an engaging and informative session with the students, focusing on menstrual hygiene, health, and empowerment.
Education and Awareness
During the session, our team educated the students about menstruation, dispelling common myths and misconceptions surrounding this natural biological process. We discussed the importance of menstrual hygiene, proper sanitary practices, and the benefits of using sanitary pads. The students actively participated in the discussion, asking questions and sharing their experiences.
Gift of Sanitary Pads
As part of our initiative, we gifted sanitary pads to the students, ensuring they have access to essential resources for maintaining their hygiene and dignity. This gesture aims to support their health, well-being, and education, empowering them to manage their menstruation with confidence.
"My Menstrual, My Pride"
The students enthusiastically embraced the slogan "My Menstrual, My Pride," symbolizing their newfound confidence and pride in their natural cycles. This empowering message encourages them to view menstruation as a normal and essential part of life, rather than something to be ashamed of.
Breaking Stigmas, Empowering Girls
Through this initiative, WODGOH aims to break stigmas surrounding menstruation and empower girls to own their periods with pride and positivity. By providing education, resources, and support, we strive to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for girls to thrive.
